Zeke is doing great. He is starting to sleep about 7 hours at a time at night. He coos and smiles when you talk to him and he has even laughed a few times! He loves to be cuddled and snuggled which no one seems to mind. I don't know if I have mentioned this on here before or not, but everytime he is fussy he is usually calmed down immediately when you touch his face lightly. It is so funny, he could be mad as ever, but just melts when you put your hand on his cheek. I hope he is always that easy to please :) He is just a really good baby. The big brothers love it now that he "talks" and smiles at them!

9 weeks
It is so hard to believe that we have only known this little guy for nine weeks. That isn't very long.....yet none of us can imagine our family without him here. Funny how that works!

Eli's bad luck
Ben has been working on the deck lately and it is about impossible to get anything done with all the "help" he gets from the kids. This morning I told him that I could take the little ones somewhere this afternoon so he could get some work done. I should have never said that. I followed through with my end of the deal, but I didn't know when I said that I would be ending up in the hospital with Eli for some X-Rays.
Eli had been outside with Ben and watching him work. When Ben turned around for a split second, Eli took a nail and the palm nailer and ended up putting a nail through his hand. The palm nailer hooks up to the air compressor and pounds nails into places that is hard to get a hammer in. Typically, you set your nail on the wood and then put the nailer on there and it pounds real quickly. Eli had a nail in his hand, and must have put the nailer on it, which caused the nail to go right into his hand. It didn't go all the way through, but it was poking out the top right below the surface.
We knew right away he needed to be seen by the doctor. I called out to the clinic and they said to bring him in. By the time I got across town, he had gone into shock. He was basically as white as a person can get and very lethargic. It was HORRIBLE! He was starting to vomit and his eyes were rolling back. He was just completely out of it. It took about 30 minutes to get him out of it. The nurses had ice on him and cold washcloths on his face. He just wasn't snapping out of it. That was way worse than the wound itself.
We ended up having to get an X-Ray to rule out any broken bones. Somehow, thankfully, the nail missed all the bones in his hand and nothing is broken. His hand is really swollen and bruised on top but he is playing just fine and has been using his hand. We are so thankful he didn't get hurt worse! Maybe now, he will listen a bit better when we tell him not to play with Daddy's tools.
These are just pictures from my phone. He was so brave today when he had to have his x-ray. This first one was taken through the windows in the radiology dept., which is why it is such bad quality.

Isaac's T-ball
Isaac had a t-ball game with just the kindergarteners last night. Usually they play with the 1st and 2nd graders and just get stuck in the outfield. They enjoyed actually getting to "play" a game! It was comical to say the least.
Isaac looks like he is really into it from the pictures. The pictures are pretty deceiving....he really doesn't have the same competitive nature that Evan has. He is about the most "happy-go-lucky, carefree kid" I know! He enjoyed running and hitting though and tried his hardest. Like most of the other kindergarten boys out there, half of the time he was playing with his hat, or the dirt.

Good Puppy
While playing outside yesterday, I noticed that Eli was crawling around the driveway and there was "water" running down the driveway. I then noticed that he had the front of his pants down, his "boy part" hanging out and he was peeing. When he noticed that I was watching, he told me he was a puppy, like Tucker and he was going potty.
Really? So this is life with boys? Never a dull moment, that's for sure!

Deck Building 101
Yes, this picture is exactly what it looks like. The boys are standing in holes....it looks like we are growing little boys.
Ben has found the perfect way to spend quality time with the kids while getting work done! Half of the post holes are dug for the deck. Hopefully it will start coming together in the next few weeks!

Trouble with the big boy
Eli is doing great with the pottying. We are to the point where he is telling us everytime he has to go.
We are also discovering a problem with it. He realized tonight that he is a boy and he can go potty anywhere...including the front yard! Several times tonight he pulled his pants halfway down and started to pee...
He was so proud. He shouted to us "I'm peein' outside!"
There are problems with that...we have a puppy. I don't think I need to explain more. I think this is a disaster waiting to happen.

8 weeks
It seems like there is always someone in Zeke's face. It is usually a big brother...for the time being, he sure doesn't seem to mind. His expressions are changing when they talk to him. It always looks as if he wants to say something back them....
He is starting to coo and smile. His big brothers think that's pretty cool!
Zeke had his 2 month appointment today. Still a big boy! Today he weighed 14 lbs 11.2 oz. which is in the 98% and he was 23.75 inches which is in the 83%. He is eating great, and starting to sleep a bit more at night. The past three nights he has gone for a 5 hour stretch and then another 4 hour stretch. Hopefully soon we will start getting a full night's sleep!

CHOO.....CHOO.....All Aboard!
The boys had dentist appointments on Tuesday. As soon as we got there, Eli said that he needed to go potty. This was exciting because it was one of the first times that he told me he had to go. I panicked for a second. I was there by myself with the boys and didn't know how I was going to take them all into the bathroom. Evan was already called back for his exam. I told Isaac to keep an eye on Zeke and not to talk to anyone. The receptionist (and everyone else there) is super nice and it just feels so comfortable. She heard what was going on so she said just to take Eli and she could keep an eye on them too.
I mentioned to her that since I was home for the summer, I decided to potty train Eli and this was the week we took it serious. When we got to the bathroom, Eli asked if he could go too. I wasn't sure what he was talking about.
He asked again...."Can I go on the potty train too?"
I couldn't help but laugh.

This boy is big....
Look at those little toes. I love baby feet. Even big babies still have cute little baby toes....even if they aren't so little!
This outfit used to be Eli's. It is a 12 month outfit. It fits Zeke perfect. This baby boy is a big baby boy!
This is the same little frog butt....I forget how tiny Eli was.
Big News
We officially have only ONE child in diapers! Eli is doing great with the underwear and he is even waking up dry! I forgot what a BIG deal this is....He is so proud of himself and often points out that he is a big boy and Zeke is a baby.

Fishing...
The kids have been very excited for Grandpa to take them fishing. Jacob was especially looking forward to it on his trip back to Iowa. Tonight we took the kids fishing in Clarksville. They had a fun time and all caught a few fish!
