Little Eyes are watching you....

He has done this before and I am sure he will do it again....

Here is Isaac in our hotel room at the state wrestling tournament. He got a little bloody nose, so in true wrestler fashion, he took care of it.

An oldie but goodie

I didn't realize I had video of this. This is on my birthday when Isaac was 2 1/2. He got into my coffee creamer. He filled up his cup and is drinking it. When I got the phone to call Ben, who was on his way home from work, to see how close he was, Isaac looked at me with a straight face and said "What, you callin' the cops?"

I love how Evan is in the background, worried that Isaac is going to get sick!

New Haircut

Isaac came home from school with a new haircut today. Not sure what possessed him to cut his own hair. It wouldn't have made me quite as mad had I not just paid for him to get a haircut last week. Ben usually cuts his hair, but with wrestling he just has been too busy to do it. So, last week I took him to Cost Cutters to get a "real" haircut. It is hard to pay $10 for a haircut you know that you can get for free at home, but with the lack of time, it was very easily justified.

Here is his "new" look....
.

And we are lucky that Ben could fix it! Ben ended up giving him a haircut tonight....So, $10 and three haircuts later...here he is! We are thankful he is a boy and we can just buzz his  hair right off. Not sure what we would do if he were a little girl!

Crocodile

Before I forget....

When we were in Des Moines, the boys loved riding on the elevator up to our hotel room. Out of nowhere, Eli started calling it a crocodile. It took us a while to figure out what he was talking about. We corrected him many times, but never really understood what he was saying after we would say "elevator, not crocodile." Then we figured it out. He was confusing elevator and alligator which is why he was calling the elevator a crocodile!

Coach Kalainoff

This is not good quality at all but I wanted to brag about Ben for a second. This was an interview done by Mason City Globe Gazette. I couldn't figure out how to get the video off the internet and onto our blog, so I just taped it with our phone, hence the bad quality. I just was so proud of Ben when I listened to the interview...this has been a long, rough season on our family and I am so happy that all the time and dedication Ben, the wrestlers and other coaches put in paid off!

State Champ

We had an exciting weekend filled with wrestling. Not sure that taking three (and a half)  boys to Des Moines for the state wrestling tournament was my smartest move as far as my sanity goes, but the ending sure was worth it! Ben had the opportunity to coach a state champion in the finals. It is the heavyweight that he has been working with all season, and it was great to see all the black eyes that Ben had during the season contributed to Caleb's state championship medal. Nashua ended up finishing 5th overall and had four placewinners (out of the 5 they took to state). It was a good weekend for the Huskies!

Haircut

I am amazed at how much a haircut can change a little boy's look. Here is Eli with his new haircut. Not sure when he turned into a little boy....he is definitely not a baby anymore!

There are words that I hope the boys never learn to say properly because they are so cute. Here are some examples:

Evan -- calapidder  (caterpillar), suffercate (suffocate)
Isaac -- ambulampse (ambulance),
Eli -- Vickie Mouse (Mickey Mouse)

I know I will think of more. These are just words that were used tonight that made me smile!

Wants vs. Needs

Tonight at supper, Isaac got up to get seconds on rice and ham. Here is the conversation:

Eli: "Isaac needs macaroni"
Mom: "We aren't having macaroni. We are having rice"
Eli: "Isaac wants macaroni"
Dad: "What does Eli need? Does Eli need a time-out"
Eli: "No, I need a cheeseburger from McDonalds"

Not sure where that came from....he does like cheeseburgers from McDonalds. I just didn't know he needed one tonight. He is becoming quite the clown of the family. He has figured out how to get his big brothers to laugh!

Big Boy

At my appointment last week I was measuring big so I was scheduled to have an ultrasound today. Since Evan was 9 lbs 14 oz., they keep a pretty close eye on things. The ultrasound confirmed that this baby is big....he is already weighing 4 lbs. 6 oz! My book says he should be close to 3 lbs....I realize that weights can vary at this stage, so I am hoping that he is a bit smaller than that! The ultrasound tech said that his arms were pretty "beefy" too! I think his hands look huge! He was being pretty stubborn and was keeping his hands pretty close to his head. He would give us a peek at his handsome face, but not for too long! Here are some pics from today....

For the record

Just so it is documented....

I am so tired of winter. It is snowing again today and it is supposed to start blowing. This is getting very old!

Helping Daddy

We had the last home dual of the year. The Huskies won their sectional so they qualified for the Regional Dual to see who qualifies for State Duals. They ended up winning tonight and will wrestle in the State Dual Team Tournament Feb. 27th.

The meet was at home tonight.  Second to wrestling on the mat after the meet, helping Daddy and the wrestlers roll up mats in the boys' favorite thing to do. Here the kids are helping roll the mats up after the meet.

Snow Removal

Isaac was working hard the other day trying to remove the snow from the drive way and sidewalk. He was trying to use his loader and dump truck to get rid of the snow. He finally gave up and let Ben finish, but he sure had fun using his resources!

Poor Eli

We are now at the point where we have too much snow for Eli to walk easily. He tries so hard to keep up with the big boys, but once he falls down, it takes him so long to get back up. We all laugh at him, and he thinks it's pretty funny too!
