I love how four year olds can play forever with toys. Eli loves his Imaginext toys and will play with them for hours. Every night he brings out his bucket,  dumps them out and plays and plays. I don't ever want to forget this...the other hard stuff about him being four I will gladly give up...but I want to remember this about him forever!

First Day

Eli was up at 6:15 this morning....with a smile on his face! He also had his bookbag on since that time as well. He has been waiting a long time for this day. Finally, he gets to go to school with Kami (our neighbor girl and good friend). I can't wait to post some pictures on here...they were so cute this morning. I got a text from Kami's grandma, the one who is transporting them back and forth and she said they had a super day. I am excited to see Eli tonight so he can tell us all about it!

One more bag

There is one more bag in the bookbag pile tonight. Eli has his first day of preschool tomorrow. He is going to attend a three year old preschool in Waverly one morning a week. He is so excited to finally be going to school like the big boys!

Just My Body...

The other night, Eli was giggling about something. I asked him what was so funny and he told me that he wasn't wearing underwear. I didn't believe him at first since he had the same clothes on all day long and never said anything about it. When I disputed him, he pulled down his pants and said "See, I'm only wearing my body, no underwear!"

4 stitches later...

Only the Kalainoffs.....The plan was to check out of the hotel at noon on Sunday and head to North Carolina. The boys went to swim in the morning and I used the time to pack us up. Ben and his brother Brian were in the pool with the kids. Eli was loving jumping into Ben and was getting quite brave. One of the kids was swimming and pulled down Ben's pants in the water. He looked away to fix his pants and not expose himself to the rest of the Kalainoff clan. Eli jumped in at Ben and they bashed heads. Both ended up splitting their eye open. Eli's cut was really wide and we ended up needing to take him to urgent care....he came home with 4 stitches.

The whole ordeal only set us back 27 minutes. We left the hotel at 12:27...and headed for the beach.

Poor guy...Daddy bought him ice cream after his scary ordeal.

What?

I am not sure how many times a day Eli asks

"What you say?"

He asks so many times that it is kind of a joke around our house....

It's a lot! Too many to count...

No Fair....

We are officially on Spring Break! This is the first year that we have had a whole week off...it works out awesome for us since we both teach in the same district. We are really looking forward to our time together. Our plan is to go to Dubuque on Wednesday and stay at the waterpark and then go to the River Museum on Thursday.

The kids were asking me when we were going. I told them that it wasn't until Wednesday (they thought we were going tomorrow). Eli, out of no where says "No fair, I thought it was Tuesday"

When I type it out, it doesn't sound nearly as funny...but just the way he said it. He was really annoyed that we weren't going until Wednesday and he said it like he knew when Tuesday was....HE IS SOMETHING ELSE!

Naughty boys

I think I have mentioned this before, but age three and Eli are NOT compatible! He has been giving us a run for our money lately...neither Ben nor I can figure him out yet. He pushes us to our limits!

Tonight he did something helpful and I said to him "Oh Eli, that was so good of you to help me out."

His response (with a big, Eli smile): "Even naughty boys like to be good sometimes."

Not sure if this is good or bad that he knows he is sometimes naughty...Then he turns around and he is the sweetest boy ever! I hope he is out of this phase soon....

I wish.....

I was so skinny that I sometimes put my underwear on upside down. Seriously....who's waist fits through the leg hole??

Well, Eli's does, but who else???

#2 down...2 to go?

Eli woke up in the middle of the night throwing up. He has been throwing up about every hour since about 1:30 a.m. Makes for a REALLY long day. Ben has his first wrestling tournament today so he left at 6:30 a.m. and is gone all day. I am finding it impossible to get Eli to sit on the couch. He wants to play, but then he gets sick. He must not feel that horrible if he is up and around. He also keeps sneaking stuff to eat...which is pleasant about 20 minutes later. He doesn't understand that if he keeps eating and drinking, he is going to keep throwing it up. Isaac was a much easier patient! I am hoping this is the end of it.

This one...

This boy is a tough one. He is strong-willed, stubborn, loud, and hard right now. He gets an idea in his head, and he does not back down. It makes parenting VERY tough. He does things just to be naughty ... example, dipping his guys in the toilet when you are standing there, just because he knows it will make you mad. Another example: jumping in the bathtub fully clothed in clean pajamas after his bath, just because he wants to....Grandma and Grandpa can tell you all about that one.

But look at him as he sleeps....he is so sweet. He really is. He says the sweetest things and doesn't give hugs and kisses away, but when he does, they are so sweet.

And then I look at these pictures a bit closer and I notice the blue marker all over his face. He drew on himself, just to make me mad.....

The BIG three!!! !

And this is the post with all the pictures! Eli was so excited about his motorcycle cake.

We got to meet our nephew, Locklan this weekend. He is 8 weeks old. There were babies everywhere! Zeke, Emma and Locklan had lots of attention.

Evan loves babies. He always has and babies love him! He loved holding his new baby cousins.
Grandpa's Girl....it's so different to have a baby girl around. Out of the 8 children running around, Emma was the only girl. She has a big job ahead of her.....keeping track of all these boys!

Uncle Brent....I think she may have him wrapped around her finger.

 Such a sweet baby girl!

Zeke looked like a monster next to her! He is a big boy!

Emma and her Mommy and Daddy

My favorite thing at the boys' parties is to watch them when we sing "Happy Birthday" It is so special to see their faces light up and truly feel special for that moment!

Locklan "Lucky" David. What a handsome boy!

Me and My Sister-in-Law, Corey, Zeke and Locklan

Eli and Keegan...They are going to be good buddies, and I imagine get into some trouble together too!

Eli Tells All

Eli wrote on himself with a green marker this morning. While asking him about it, he confessed to a few other things he had done.
