Cousins

Today was the last day all the Kalainoff Cousins were together. The next time will be Christmas and there will be a new baby girl in the picture! Here is our attempt at getting some pictures of them....

And my favorite!

While we were on the road to Virginia, Isaac turned 7! It is so hard to believe that we actually have a seven year old!

Here is Isaac at the motel the second day of the trip.

Celebrating....

Here is my post from last year....I just love the pictures of our blue eyed boy!

Listening

We have been working A LOT on listening in our house. I am sure it is common for kids not to listen, but our kids are driving us nuts with it. We have explained over and over that they need to listen the first time we say something. Often times we tell them not to do something because it is not safe, not because we want to ruin their fun.

The other night was a perfect example.

At Evan's baseball game the other night, Eli decided to log roll down the hill. He didn't listen when Grandpa and Grandma told him to stop. They weren't trying to ruin his fun.....they were just trying to tell him that there was mud at the bottom....

And this is what happens when you log roll down a hill with standing water and mud at the bottom....

And the home crowd gave a cheer and a laugh...and I think many were thankful it wasn't their dirty boy they had to take home with them!

String....a boy's best friend

I have a ton to update on here....but for tonight, this is what I have time for.

We have found the perfect way to keep Zeke out of trouble.....string.

He will play with string for hours....literally! The other night he had a yo-yo for two hours. He just drags it around the house and plays with it. Last night it was Evan's shoe....

Tonight a piece of Sarah's ribbon. It was literally two hours he played with it. He drags it around the house, plays with others things but always has it in his hand. He gets very upset if you try to take it away.

It isn't the safest toy ever, but when I weigh out the consequences of him playing with string, I have decided that when he has string in his hand, it keeps him out of other things that could cause danger.

Who knew something so simple could keep a one year old so happy and occupied!

Resting up....

The boys are resting up for the long ride home. We left Pittsburgh this afternoon and our plan it's to drive until we reach our driveway. We have had an awesome vacation and have so many great memories from these two weeks.

And this is what we look like going out to eat....we over take every place we go to!

And I don't EVER want to forget the moment where the boys saw the ocean and jumped in (accidentally fell in!) They couldn't stop smiling, laughing and squealing! They LOVE it!

Here it comes!

Seriously, this is the view from our bedroom. We have a deck off of our room and it goes right to the ocean. The walkway goes right out to the beach.
