Eli had an ultrasound of his stomach on Monday. The ultrasound showed the same as the Upper GI...he is having muscle spasms, but does not require surgery. That was good news to us. We still don't know why he is puking so much even with the medication he is on. We have an appointment with a specialist in Iowa City in April. We are also feeding him less formula to see if that helps. He now gets 4 oz every 2 1/2 hours instead of 6 oz every 4 hours. So far, it does seem a little better.

We are gearing up for a busy month of April. Last night we accepted an offer on our house. As long as the inspection passes, we have our house sold! We are very excited and nervous about what is to come. We will hopefully be starting the building process this spring. Our hope is to be in by August! It is all happening so fast. We decided to take the offer that we had so we can move on with the building process and Ben can work on it this summer. We were worried that if waited for something else, it wouldn't fit into our time frame.

The pictures below are from our nephew Dylan's 2nd birthday party. We went to the PlayStation in Cedar Rapids. The kids had a blast and are already planning the next trip back.

Another visit to the doctor

We took Eli to the doctor again today for a follow-up appointment. He is still spitting up a lot and things have seemed to get worse again. He seems more uncomfortable when he takes his bottle...about half-way through he gets real squirmy and cries like he is in pain. I think maybe his tummy is giving him trouble when he eats. He almost seems like he is cramped up. The medication worked very well for a few weeks. He was barely spitting up and things were going great. The last few weeks, he is starting to spit up a lot!

The doctor referred us to a surgeon at Allen. We are going on Monday for a stomach ultrasound to determine whether or not surgery will help this situation. Not at all what we wanted to hear. On the other hand, we are ready for this to get better for Eli. It is no fun to clean up spit-up all the time and be covered in it wherever we go.

The good news is that he is gaining weight finally. He was up to 16 lbs. 11 oz. today.  Last time we were in he was 14 lbs 15 oz. and it has been less than a month that he has put on almost 2 pounds. So, at least now we are not as worried about him losing weight or not gaining. Hopefully after Monday we will know where we are headed. I hate giving him medication that is not even helping him. He takes one med. 4 times a day and the other 2 times a day and we are right back to where we were at the beginning of all of this.

New camera

I finally convinced Ben that I NEEDED a new camera! No, there is nothing wrong with the one I had. I will still use it, but I really needed a bigger and better one. I figure, he gets tools everytime we do a project around the house so I was entitled to a new camera. I love it and I know I will use it a lot. I have been scoping them out for a while and waiting for the right moment to tactfully bring it up to my husband. He started talking about needed a truck, so I thought it was a perfect time to mentiont that I needed a new camera :) How could he say no!

5 months old!!!

Eli is doing great. He is finally putting some meat on his bones. He is the happiest baby ever...his favorite thing to do is to laugh at his big brothers when they talk to him. He has been rolling over all the time this week...as soon as you put him on the floor, he rolls to his tummy! I barely catch it on tape because it happens so fast.
