I was making supper and Eli was in the boys' room playing trucks. I was checking on him periodically. At some point between me checking on him, he went to the bathroom without me knowing.
Ben got home and Eli came running out with a wet toothbrush. When I looked at it closely, I mentioned to Ben that I thought I threw that one away. At the same time, Ben and I took off towards the bathroom with our worst fear realized...The floor was soaking wet, Eli was soaking wet and everything once in the trash was floating in the toilet including a diaper and a broken yo-yo. So, the rest of the story I would rather not think about....the toothbrush was wet and although I never saw him do it and would like to never think about it again...I am positive that he dipped it in the toilet. That is the only access he had to water. Pleasant thought, huh?
Really, we do try very hard to keep our kids safe. I am amazed at how quickly things like this happen. It wasn't like I was napping on the couch and not paying attention to my children, I was trying to feed my family supper!
