We got some new pictures taken of the boys. Thought I would share them here...
Isaac's turned out cute...you would never believe that he was being so stubborn and would not smile at all. He kept looking at the lady like she was crazy (actually she was). The reason why he is smiling is because right before that he used his finger like a pretend gun, turned his body to the side, pretended to shoot her and then put his hand in his pocket. Yes, it sounds terrible and we do not approve. We just don't know how to get him to stop. The thing is, we don't own any toy guns, he makes them with his finger. And then when we tell him to put the guns away, he says "What? It's just my finger." It really is hard to not laugh at him sometimes.
Evan takes such good pictures...he smiles with his eyes.

First day of school!

Today was the first day of school for Evan, Ben and I. Everyone survived the heat. Evan came home and said that kindergarten was really fun but it was very "zausting" (exhausting). He enjoyed eating chicken nuggets and he said that the rest time was so short I wouldn't even believe it! It is so fun to see him so excited about school! Isaac had a hard time going to daycare without Evan. This is the first time he has really been there by himself with Evan gone all day.

Here are some pictures from the day...
Evan's best buddy, Dawson.

And let's not forget Spike's first day of middle school...the black background gives the illusion that I am not as huge as I am....it is just an illusion...

Cousins

All the cousins got to play together last night for Jacob's third birthday. It was crazy...as it would be when you put 5 small children together all under the age of 5! They had a great time. We tried to get pictures of them for Grandma and ended up getting two pretty good ones....we had to take a lot just to get these!

Update on Spike and other things...

I am 32 weeks this week and had another appointment. Spike is growing good and his heartrate is great. He was being a wild man...he wouldn't hold still long enough for the nurse to get a good reading on his heart rate. When he finally did, it was 158 and with one big kick, it was up to 163! She asked if he was always that active...yes he is. He is crazy! I wonder if he will ever sleep once he is here!

My blood pressure was high this appointment. She was going to put me on medication for it. I did mention to her that I had a bad cold and had taken some Sudafed. She said that could have affected it, so I will come back next week to have it rechecked and then if it is still high, we will start the medication next week. I am fine with that, especially if it avoids having to be put on bedrest....I would really like to be able to work until he is born, so I don't have to use all my days up. I know that when it comes down to it, I will do what is best for both of us, but if the medication is safe and will fix the problem, I would rather go that route.

We started school this week (Ben and I). It will be nice to get into a routine and I know it will go fast because I will only be there a few weeks before Spike is born...I still can't believe that Evan starts school next week. He is so big!

Isaac funny: We were getting ready to register Evan for kindergarten and Isaac asked where we were going. I said that we were going to sign Evan up for school. Isaac then said, "And then we gonna sign me up for Bickie's?" (Vickie's) I laughed at him and his little speech problem! I told him that he was already signed up for Vickie's house!
This is the most recent picture I have of Spike...just imagine me bigger than this!

Is it hot in here, or is it just me?

In less than a week, Ben and I will be back at school....Doesn't seem right. I don't know where the summer has gone! The weeks are just flying by. Ben has been off work since July 27th. We had so many things that we were hoping to accomplish this summer, we are coming to accept the fact that they just aren't all going to get done. Ben has been working at the school every free moment that he can find. He is getting ready for his new job. We are excited for the change, although it is going to be a lot of work for him this first year, we know that in the long run, this is the best case scenario for our family.

The boys moved into their big boy bedroom this week. It has been going great! We thought for sure they would be scared to be down there, but they love being in their new dinosaur room. We are trying to make room for "Spike." We can't believe that he will be here in less than 8 weeks! I don't know where the time has gone. It just seemed like we had so much time to get ready, and now all of the sudden...he will be here soon! We are getting so excited to see who he looks like and how he will fit into our family. At times, the wait seems unbearable for the boys. They talk about him all the time. I think it will be hard for Evan to go school and leave him behind. Speaking of Evan going to school....
Evan's kindergarten teacher visited yesterday. It went well and we are very happy that he has the teacher he does. She seems very kind and I think it will be a good fit for him. Did you know they learn how to read in kindergarten already??!!! Ben and I were amazed! It is so exciting to think of all the new things that are in store for him, but it makes me so sad that he is growing up so fast! It just seems like he was the baby, and now our family has grown into (soon) a family of 5! Time goes so fast. There are times that I wish I could just pause things...not when the kids are fighting and I am tired and stressed, but there are moments that are so great I wish would last forever!
Today is supposed to be 90!! I hope they are wrong! I am so hot...sometimes out of nowhere, I bust out in a sweat and I am not even doing anything...pretty attractive, I'd say!!

I am new at this, but I thought I would try this out and see how easy it is to keep others updated on our crazy life. I will add more later....I just want to see how this works.
