Zeke or Eli?

Don't worry...we can't see you hiding behind the chair eating pretzels in the living  room!

There are many moments of the day that I have to do a double take and try and figure out what boy this is. Zeke is looking more and more like Eli...especially from the back. In the mornings, if we have a kid in bed with us, I have to look very close to figure out which one ended up with us!

Night habits

I'm laying with Zeke as he falls asleep. If I didn't take the time to lay with him at night, I would never know that he rubs his forehead and his knee as he falls asleep. It is so sweet. This is the same child who used to melt when we touched/rubbed his face. When he was a tiny baby, all we had to do to quiet him when he was fussy was touch his cheek and forehead. It would instantly calm him.

Oh Z....

You know that moment where you suddenly realize that while it is so exciting to watch your baby learn to talk, it sometimes gets them in trouble?

Last night I was standing at the kitchen sink rinsing a dish out. Zeke took the sink sprayer, and sprayed me. I yelled..it was quite a shock. And that's when the baby said the most big boy thing...

"Firefighters do that"

Hard to argue with that.

And even harder to be mad!

Oh, how we love football season in the Kalainoff Household! Evan lives and breathes football! This year we have two football players…Evan had his first game this Sunday and Isaac's start next Sunday. We will be running like crazy on our Sundays, but we are so excited!

So Sleepy

Eli has never been a great sleeper. He is the first one up in the morning and the last one to bed at night. Knowing that, I signed him up for afternoon preschool with the hope that he would go to bed earlier and sleep better. So far, it is working. He is exhausted by the end of the week.

This morning, he was up, but then fell back asleep on the couch. Zeke is always wanting to be right in the middle of the action...and constantly tormenting his brothers! He was pretty funny this morning, trying to "nuggle" with Eli!

 Poor, Sleepy Eli!

Isaac's FB debut

Last night was the first night Isaac had practice with full pads. He was so excited!

Evan is a lot bigger than the other kids in his grade...I've never worried about him getting hurt. Isaac is built so different and looks so tiny in his pads! He loved practice last night!
Look at those skinny (cross country running) legs :)

Squeaky Clean

I took Eli to get a new cast put on today. He will get it off in a week, but it smelled so bad and was so dirty, we couldn't wait much longer. When they took it off, there was so much sand and so many rocks in it that there were indentions on his arm. The nurses laughed...and agreed it was time for it to come off and get cleaned up. We didn't inspect it too closely to see if the bug was still there. The nurse pretty much took it off, cringed and threw it away. Hopefully next week, his x-rays will show that it is healed up and he can go to a removable splint.
