Deja Vu

When I took this picture the other night, I swore I had seen it before....

After much searching, this is what I found. If it weren't for the same helmets and the same bike trailer, you wouldn't know they were from the same family. Why is it that none of them look alike? The picture of Isaac and Evan was taken in April of 2005. Evan is almost 3 and Isaac is almost 1.

Iowa Sweet Corn

Last night we finally had sweet corn. Evan and Isaac loved it.....

Eli, of course, did not....not surprising considering he still does not eat much. I thought for sure this would be something fun and different for him. Instead, it looked like he was demonstrating 101 things to do with an ear of sweet corn...none of which included eating it.

FiIRE FIRE

Evan went swimming with a friend yesterday so I let Isaac have a friend over. He has never had a friend come to play...and if he has, it has been when another family has been here. Aiden came to play. They had so much fun. At one point, I walked outside just in time to hear them shout FIRE FIRE....they were spraying down the house! It was so cute!

Adventureland

On Tuesday, we took a trip to Adventureland with my parents. They went along to help with Eli while Ben and I rode rides with the older boys. We had a great day, there were barely any lines and the weather was perfect.

Evan rode this ride that goes upside down and sprays water on you. NO THANKS!

Eli was scared to death of the carousel, but then rode in the fire truck and the other small rides. He loved it!

Isaac laughed so hard on this ride....It was so funny to watch him have such a good time! He has the most contagious laugh!

Isaac's First Rollercoaster

Isaac went on his first rollercoaster ride on Tuesday. Never before had I ever considered buying the $10 picture at the end of the Log Ride......Isaac's face here is priceless (you may have to click on the picture to enlarge it and get the full effect!). We had to get it. When the ride was over, he said he felt like he was falling. We had forgotten that he has never felt that feeling in his stomach. Later he said he wasn't going on the Log Ride again cuz it "fweaked" him out! He did end up riding the Tornado. I wonder what his face looked like on that ride! He said it was fun.

Camping Adventure

Ben and Evan, along with Evan's best friend Dawson and his dad, Al went on a camping adventure today. Al's parents live over by the Mississippi and have farm land. The guys decided to take the little boys on a camping adventure. They packed everything in their backpacks, luckily we have an army quality rucksack....They parked at Al's parents and hike about a half mile or so to the camp site....carrying everything with them. Not my idea of camping...I enjoy bathrooms and actual campsites. I don't rough it quite like that!

Here are the boys all packed up, right before they left. Aside from the severe storms they had this afternoon, last I talked to them, they were having a great time!

Next Project

Since we aren't having much luck in the grass department, we decided to start a project inside. This is our master bathroom. Ben is putting ceramic tile down. We haven't been able to use the shower or the toliet in this bathroom since the floor was not done. It will be nice to have two working bathrooms soon! We are taking advantage of the kids not being here. The older ones are on a small vacation with Grandma and Grandpa and Eli is at daycare. It is amazing how much a person can get done without little ones around!

DIRT

I was sitting at the computer and thinking to myself that I love the smell of coffee...then it occurred to me that Eli and I were the only ones home. Why did I smell coffee....

This is why.

His response "DIRT"

I guess when Mommy doesn't let you play outside in the dirt, you find your own inside.

Notice the "dirt" on the bottom of his feet. What a mess!

MISS ISS IPPI

Eli learned a new word this week while we were coming home from Kenosha. We stopped at the Mississippi River. The older boys are on vacation with Grandma, Grandpa and Cousin Dylan to the Mississippi. Eli has been talking about it a lot the past two days. Last night he heard them mention the Mississippi River on the news and he ran up to the t.v. and started repeating it. We think it is quite a mouthful for such a little guy!
