Talking

Eli is talking so much lately and has started to put two and three words together. He LOVES truck and can name about any truck....dump truck, fire truck, tracky (tractor), bus, fork truck (fork lift), amby (ambulance), police car, motor cyc (motorcycle), big truck. He names the vehicles as he sees them. When he sees a police car, ambulance or fire truck, he names them and then makes the siren noise.

The other night we were in his room getting ready for bed. I picked him up off his changing table and asked him if he was ready to go night-night. He said, clear as day "NO, PLAY TOYS"

Tonight we were outside and he was saying "mouse" We couldn't figure out what he was saying and what he meant. When I finally figured out he was saying mouse, he said "MOUSE BOOK INSIDE" He wanted to read Goodnight Moon. It has a mouse in it and he loves to read it before bed. His eyes lit up when I repeated what he said and he knew that I knew what he meant.

He has also been saying "I SEE TRUCK" "I SEE BUS" and on and on...it is so cool to hear him name what he sees and really start to communicate with us.

Backwards

This morning as we were walking out of church, Ben's mom mentioned that she thought Isaac had his shorts on backwards. I looked...yep, his blue plaid shorts were on backwards. Nice, Isaac. He got dressed himself this morning and I guess with the rush of the morning, no one checked him over. The plaid distracted from the fact that his back pockets were in the front. He is funny!

Boating Fun

Yesterday we enjoyed some time on our friends' boat. The kids loved it!

This is Eli and our neighbor, Kami, who is 3 days younger than him. They are so cute together...This picture is the way back to the dock. They were both about to fall asleep.

The boys enjoyed playing at the beach and rolling in the sand.

Grass

After just a few weeks, we finally have some grass growing in the front yard. This weather has been perfect for growing grass. We have gotten a nice amount of rain and a perfect amount of sun. We will be mowing in no time. We still have a ways to go....we are wating for the sidewalk up the front door and then we can finish that and begin landscaping. The whole backyard and side of the house has to be covered in dirt and seeded. It is a HUGE job and we are just taking it section by section.

Pool fun

We broke out the swimming pool for the first time this summer. Just as we suspected, Eli loves the water. He was not scared at all and just like his bath, he loved splashing and jumping.

Baseball Boy

Evan hitting the ball
Evan running to first base
Evan is in the field with his glove up. He is ready....the kid on the far left cracks me up. He isn't even watching the game.

Evan has decided that t-ball is his favorite sport. He has come a long ways from last year....they are still so funny to watch. I help coach and it just cracks me up. They all think that they are professional baseball players and take it so seriously!

Dumb Move....

So, in order to free up more space in my web albums so I could keep posting pictures on here, I deleted all the web albums I had saved with Picasa. I was totally unaware that all the picture uploaded to the blog were in the web albums. SO......I have no pictures in my previous entries. I feel sick about it...the stories are there, but many of the cute pictures are gone :( I did find out that there is no way to retrieve deleted albums either.

Nice move.

Pioneer Days

We had a fun and busy weekend. We left on Friday night to go to Clarksville for Pioneer Days. We decided to spend the weekend there to lessen the running back and forth and spend as much time with our nephews. The cousins had a great time playing with each other...there were few fights and they were all troopers, even with the change in routines and schedules for everyone.

Eli loved the parade...He says "fi truck" very clear and pointed at every single one that went by. The only traumatic event at the parade was when Eli learned what a clown was. It would be an understatement to say he was "freaked" out. I don't know what word to use to describe the pure horror and panic that he experienced when the clown rode up on her moped and tried to hand him candy. He let out the most blood curdling scream you have ever heard. He screamed hystarically and then tried to claw his way out of his stroller. He shook for at least 5 minutes afterwards and clung on to my neck. He was terrified....poor baby.

The big boys ready to ride the elephant ride.

This shouldn't be cute, but it really was. Eli loves trucks and motorcycles....needless to say, he does not like to ride them. The good news is, this picture was taken before the ride started and he did get his three tickets back.

Isaac and Dylan on the motorcycles.
And, I can't leave out sweet baby Keegan. He is the happiest baby ever and he just always has such a sweet smile. He was all sorts of cute this weekend too....

Fire Figher

When Isaac is left alone, he comes up with some pretty amazing ideas. We never know how we will find him. Ben and I were admiring the grass we had planted that decided to grow this weekend. I came around the house to find Isaac like this.....

He had gotten his fire helmet and drug the hose out. It was too cute to not take pictures!

A day at the Park

It cracks me up how these two can be brothers....Isaac is so dark and Eli is so light. It is just funny to see them right next to each other!

Fun on the slide....

Fossil Hunt

My parents came up today and we took the boys to the Rockford Fossil Quarry. The boys had a blast looking for fossils and rocks.

Evan realized that he could read the signs. He did such a great job reading...there were some big words that he pronounced too!
