Listening

We have been working A LOT on listening in our house. I am sure it is common for kids not to listen, but our kids are driving us nuts with it. We have explained over and over that they need to listen the first time we say something. Often times we tell them not to do something because it is not safe, not because we want to ruin their fun.

The other night was a perfect example.

At Evan's baseball game the other night, Eli decided to log roll down the hill. He didn't listen when Grandpa and Grandma told him to stop. They weren't trying to ruin his fun.....they were just trying to tell him that there was mud at the bottom....

And this is what happens when you log roll down a hill with standing water and mud at the bottom....

And the home crowd gave a cheer and a laugh...and I think many were thankful it wasn't their dirty boy they had to take home with them!
