It has been a rough start to the school year. Out of the 8 school days, three of them would have been sick days (actually, four of them but luckily we don't go to school on Saturdays).
The first week of school, Eli came home from daycare on Wednesday - first day of school - with a fever. I took him to the walk in clinic that night and he tested positive for strep. When I got home that night, Ben informed me that Zeke had been laying on the floor most of the evening and felt warm. The kid doesn't stop moving, so that was a huge red flag. Luckily, Ben's mom could come up and watch the two little boys on the second day of school. It is a bit hard to call in sick on the second day and do sub plans when you don't really know the kids, the material or the schedule well. Zeke's rapid strep test came back negative but the culture eventually came back positive. At this point, two kids on antibiotics. On the second day of school, Isaac came home and said he didn't feel well. He had a fever and was really achy. Ben took him to the walk in clinic and he tested negative for strep. It never did come back positive, so he must have had a virus. Off to Grandma's house on Friday. As hard as it is to call in sick on the second day of school, it's not much easier on the third day.
By Sunday, everyone seems to be feeling better. The start of last week went well...
Fast forward to Thursday night, we were getting ready to eat supper. I go to put Zeke in his high chair and he vomits all over. Thinking maybe it's a fluke or his teeth, we get him cleaned up and feed him some supper...15 minutes later, same thing. Great. Another sick kid. Ben calls in sick to stay home with him Friday, the 8th day of school. Zeke sleeps through the night, but continues vomiting on Friday. Friday night, Evan says he doesn't want to go to football game with me because his tummy hurts. He starts vomiting around 8:00 pm Friday night and it continues into the day on Saturday. Luckily, we don't work on Saturdays!
As of today, well, I'm not even going to say it.....
We did enjoy the air show yesterday and we were all up and at it today....
It's a new week. Here's hoping it is a smoother rest of the year.....

That is a nightmare! I pray that it is out of everyone's system and you have a healthy time going forward.
